He stopped looking at screens around the time he became one, so to speak; at that point, the footage recorded by all the cameras in Sintracorp simply played in his mind, superimposed over his vision like the burnt-in afterimage of a dream.
At first, he hated it with a passion – the unending noise and light, the constant awareness of where everyone and everything was at once, the knowledge that he was losing the last shreds of his humanity – but now he finds that he enjoys it, likes being able to watch over Brian Pasternack as much as he wants.
The sight of his face is the only thing that keeps him going, the only remedy to the pain that plagues him every second of his new existence, and even though he knows it's pointless, that he's long gone past the possibility of being saved, he lets himself daydream about a world where he could be fixed, could be human again, just to spend the rest of his life peering into those big brown eyes.
