"Wow," Shauna exclaimed, as loud and excited as she always was, looking down in amazement at the tray of cookies in her hands, "I can barely believe I made those myself."
Lysandre's smile was only there if you knew to look for it, but she'd become adept at reading him in the last few months; he seemed a lot more relaxed now that he was no longer wearing that expensive outfit with the tight cravat and the shiny leather, and it made him seem younger, too, reminded her that he wasn't even as old as her parents were.
"In the interest of fairness, I helped," he said slowly, his blue eyes sparkling with a joy she'd only been seeing since after everything that had gone down in Geosenge, "though only a little bit."
